Optimize your cart to increase sales and reduce abandoned checkouts.
Cart Type
How should the cart behave when a customer adds a product?
- Go to Theme Settings > Cart.
- Cart Type:
- Drawer: A side panel slides out (Recommended). It keeps customers on the page so they can keep shopping.
- Page: Redirects them to a dedicated
/cartpage. - Notification: Shows a small popup message.
In-Cart Upsells (Cross-Sell)
Suggest related products right inside the cart to boost your average order value.
How to Set Up
- Go to Theme Settings > Cart Cross-sell.
- Global Product: Select a product that appeals to everyone (e.g., a cleaning kit or gift wrap). This will show up if no specific recommendations are found.
- Dynamic Recommendations:
- You can set specific recommendations for each product using Shopify Metafields (
custom.cart_cross_sell). - If you're a beginner, just stick to the Global Product for now—it's much easier!

Free Shipping Bar
Motivate customers to spend more by showing how close they are to free shipping.
- Go to Theme Settings > Free Shipping Bar.
- Threshold: Enter the amount needed for free shipping (e.g.,
50for $50). - Result: The cart will show "Spend $15 more for Free Shipping!".
Checkout Settings
- Logo: Make sure to upload your logo for the Checkout page too! This is done in Theme Settings > Checkout.
- Colors: Match the checkout button colors to your store's branding.
