Footer
The Footer is the bottom section of your website. It's where customers look for contact info, shipping policies, and social media links.
How to Customize the Footer
1. Access Footer Settings
- In the Theme Editor, scroll to the very bottom of the left sidebar.
- Click on Footer.
2. Add Content Blocks
The footer is built using "blocks". You can add different types of content:
- Menu: Add a link list (e.g., "Quick Links", "Customer Service").
- Text: Add a short "About Us" paragraph or your store address.
- Image: Upload your logo or a trust badge.
- Newsletter: Add an email signup form.
To add a block:
- Click Add block under the Footer section.
- Choose the type of block you want.
- Drag and drop them to rearrange the order.
3. Social Media Icons
- Go to Theme Settings (the gear icon on the far left).
- Click Social Media.
- Paste the links to your Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
- The icons will automatically appear in your footer.
4. Payment Icons
Want to show Visa, Mastercard, PayPal logos?
- In the Footer settings, check the box Show payment icons.
- Note: These icons are determined by your Shopify Payment settings (Settings > Payments in admin).
Advanced Footer Tips
Adding Sections Above the Footer
With Shopify 2.0, you can add sections above the footer but still part of the footer group (so they appear on every page).
- In the editor sidebar, look for Footer Group.
- Click Add section.
- Great for:
- Newsletter Signup: A wide banner asking for emails.
- Trust Badges: Icons like "Free Shipping", "30-Day Returns".
- Testimonials: Show a scrolling review bar.
